This Privacy Policy describes what personal information Princeton Adult School collects, how we collect it, how we use it, how we may share your information, including your personal information, in conjunction with your access to and use of the Princeton Adult School site(s), (ssreg.com/Princeton and princetonadultschool.org) and what choices and rights you have with respect to this information.  When we mention “we”, “us” or “our” in the privacy policy, we are referring to the Princeton Adult School.


WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

There are two ways in which we collect information.

Information you give to us. We may require and collect the following personal information about you when you use one of our Site(s).

Registration/Account Information. When you sign up on our website account or third party sites we use, we may require information such as your first name, last name, senior citizen status, mailing address, city, state, zip code, primary phone number, gender, and/or password you choose.

Financial Information. To use certain features of our website(s) (such as purchasing a class or making a donation), we may require you to provide to our third party payment processor your financial information. This may include your credit card information in order to process your payments for registering for those classes and/or donations you have purchased. All financial information that is collected is done so directly by third party payment processors according to their privacy policies. Please check their websites for their policies.

Profile Data includes your username and password, purchases and/or donations made by you for as long as your account is stored on our servers.

Communications. If you contact us directly (through phone, email, our website or otherwise), we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide. We may also receive a confirmation when you open an email from us.

If you wish to use any of our Site(s), we require the information as previously stated; if you do not want to provide this information, you should not use our Site(s). In addition, if you sign up on our registration site, we will automatically sign you up for our newsletters. You have the option on each email sent to you to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Please check for the unsubscribe button at the bottom of each email.

Information We Automatically Collect from Your Use of our Site(s).

Usage Information. We collect information about how you interact on our Site(s) such as which pages you visit or content you view, what you search for in terms of classes and other actions on our Site(s).

Device Information.   When you visit our website, our servers may keep record logs of the standard data provided by your web browser. This data is considered “non-identifying information”, as it does not personally identify you on its own. It may include your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, how much time you spend on each page, and other details.

We do not rent or sell your personal contact information. The registration site lets us print class roster information, including personal information that is visible to the staff of Princeton Adult School and instructors teaching classes.

The personal information that is shared on these class rosters may include your first name, address, phone number and email address.

Princeton Adult School may investigate and disclose your information as permitted by applicable law, to comply with courts, law enforcement or governmental authorities, or authorized third parties, if  we believe that such investigations or disclosures are necessary to (i) comply with our legal obligations, (ii) to comply with legal process and to respond to claims asserted against Princeton Adult School , (iii) to respond to orders or instructions relating to a criminal investigation or any other activity that may expose us, you, or any other of our users to legal liability such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute, judicial proceeding, or other legal process served on us (iv) to protect the rights, reputation, property or personal safety of Princeton Adult School its visitors, employees, its users, customers or the public.

Third Party Companies.  Our website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our website, we suggest you review the privacy policy of each of other sites.

YOUR RIGHTS

You may exercise any of the rights described in this section by sending an email to [email protected].

You may access and update your information through your account profile settings on ssreg.com/princeton. You are responsible for keeping your personal information up-to-date.

Your previous purchase history is stored on our servers, but is not visible to you after you have completed your current term of classes. We will provide your purchase history to you upon written request.

You may unsubscribe from receiving promotional emails from us. If you wish to do so, simply follow the instructions at the bottom of the email. Even if you unsubscribe, we may still contact you for informational, transactional, or account-related reasons. 

Many browsers have an option for disabling cookies, which may prevent your browser from accepting new cookies or enable selective use of cookies. Please note that, if you choose not to accept cookies, some features and the personalization of our services may no longer work for you.

You also have the right to restrict processing – that’s a right for you in certain circumstances to ask us to suspend processing personal data.

You also have the right to data portability – that’s a right for you to ask us for a copy of your personal data in a common format (for example, a .csv file).

Rectification of Inaccurate or Incomplete Information.

You have the right to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information concerning you.

Data Retention and Erasure (also known as “The Right to be Forgotten)

We generally retain your personal information indefinitely. If you no longer want us to use your information to provide the Site to you, you can request that we erase your personal information and close your Princeton Adult School Account. Please note that if you request the erasure of your personal information:

We may keep some of your personal and/or financial information as necessary for our own business interests such as financial auditing obligations or fraud detection. In addition, some of your personal information may remain on our backup systems for a limited period of time after your request has been made.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

Princeton Adult School reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time in accordance with this provision. If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised Privacy Policy on the Site and update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
